Hospital center names vice president

North Arundel Hospital Professional Center has named Annapolis resident Sandy Mellema vice president of clinical services.

Ms. Mellema, a registered nurse, will be responsible for managing clinical operations of the center's programs, and ensuring quality and efficiency.

Ms. Mellema will be responsible for a staff of 35 employees and serve as liaison between the Professional Center and North Arundel Hospital.

County resident joins Hyatt Real Estate

Peter Wood, a resident of Anne Arundel County since 1952, has joined Hyatt Real Estate in Annapolis as a sales associate.

Mr. Wood is a member of the Anne Arundel Commercial & Industrial Association.

CPA association elects new board member

Daniel C. Conkling, CPA, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants.

The association is the largest such group in the state, serving the needs of more than 9,000 CPAs.

Two sales associates join Weichert Realtors

The Anne Arundel County office of Weichert, Shannon & Luchs Realtors welcomed two new sales associates.

Joe White transferred to Annapolis after working as a branch manager for two other brokers from 1985 to 1992.

A member of the Anne Arundel Association of Realtors and the Maryland Association of Realtors, Mr. White lives in Severna Park.

Peter Ayerle, previously a regional property manager of 1,100 rental units for Allstate Management Corporation, has joined Weichert's Annapolis office.

A member of the Anne Arundel County Association of Realtors, Mr. Ayerle specializes in residential sales in South County, where he resides.

Bus company employee wins national award

Robert Lee Cohen of the Annapolis Bus Company Inc. recently won the National School Transportation Association's Golden Merit Award at the group's 29th annual convention in San Francisco.

The award honors excellence in service and safety.

Prudential manager attends conference

Ruth Grimes of the Severna Park office of Prudential Preferred Properties was among 50 branch managers to attend the 1993 Branch Manager's Summer Summit on The Chesapeake.
