STOLEN CAR: Northern District -- A 1985 Mercedes-Benz with Maryland license plates ZZN098 was stolen from the 2600 block of Edgecombe Circle North Tuesday.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the first block of E. 27th St. was walking near his home Tuesday morning when a man placed a hard object in his back and robbed him of his wallet.

SHOOTING: Southern District -- A 5-year-old girl was shot Tuesday night when a man fired a gun at the door of an apartment in the 2300 block of Norfolk St. The girl was playing in the hallway at 8:30 p.m. when the man pulled out a handgun and fired a shot into the door, reportedly following an argument with the occupant. The bullet shattered into several pieces, some of which struck the child in the chest and arm. The man escaped, and the girl was taken to Harbor Hospital Center for treatment. Police said the girl's mother lives in the apartment where the shooting took place.

ROBBERY/ARREST: Southern District -- A resident of the 1300 block of W. Lombard St. was in the 1300 block of Hollins St. Tuesday night when he was attacked by two men who robbed him of $100. Later, police arrested Paul Burris, 19, of the 200 block of S. Gilmor St., and charged him with robbery, assault and theft. The second man was being sought.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- Someone entered a house in the 900 block of Peach St. Tuesday and stole a TV, VCR and microwave oven, all valued at $800.

PURSE SNATCH: Western District -- A resident of the 2400 block of Winchester St. was walking in the 2500 block of Gwynns Falls Parkway Tuesday morning when a man stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at $25.

BURGLARY/ARREST: Western District -- Police responding to a burglary in the 2500 block of Lauretta Ave. Tuesday morning arrested a teen-age boy who broke into the house. Nothing appeared missing.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered Ann Marie's used furniture store in the 2200 block of Pennsylvania Ave. Monday or Tuesday and stole property valued at more than $300.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Property valued at nearly $90 was stolen Monday or Tuesday from a garage in the 2500 block of W. Lafayette Ave.

THEFT: Western District -- Someone entered a 1988 Ford truck while it was parked in the 1900 block of Elgin Ave. Tuesday morning and stole property valued at more than $800.


ROBBERY: White Marsh District -- A gunman robbed Record & Tape Traders in the 7600 block of Belair Road Tuesday evening and escaped with an undisclosed sum. During the robbery, the man kept a handgun in his waistband.

ROBBERY: Wilkens District -- Police were seeking a man who robbed the Exxon service station in the 6000 block Baltimore National Pike Tuesday night at gunpoint and escaped with an undisclosed sum. Before forcing the female attendant to give him money from the cash register, the man purchased gasoline for his car. Police said the robber's getaway car is listed to a member of the military.

STOLEN CAR: North Point District -- A 1989 Toyota with Maryland license plates 292ALT was stolen Tuesday from the parking lot of the Eastpoint Mall in the 7800 block of Eastern Boulevard.

BURGLARY/ASSAULT: Parkville District -- A man forced his way into the apartment of his ex-girlfriend Monday and assaulted her. The victim, a resident of the first block of Dacin Court, was not seriously hurt

PURSE SNATCH: Towson District -- A resident of the 1700 block of Glen Keith Boulevard was walking near her home Tuesday evening when a man stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at $50.
