Banners to go up at 32 sites

The Glen Burnie Improvement Association will put up seasonal banners at 32 locations to welcome people to the downtown area.

The association's membership has agreed to buy the banners for about $14,000 from Thomas A. Brady & Associated Artists of Stevensville. The banners will hang from light posts.

The banners, about 31 inches wide by 94 inches long, will hang on Crain Highway and Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard. Banners will have seasonal designs, with the likely exception of the summer banner, which will advertise the annual carnival the community group holds.

The association has not decided what welcome message will be printed on the banners.

The first banners to go up will mark the winter holidays.
