Teen attacked, robbed by group of youths in Oakland Mills
A group of youngsters attacked a 16-year-old Columbia youth and stole his $150 skateboard Saturday night as he walked near an apartment complex in Oakland Mills, Howard County police said.
At about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, the boy was approached by a stranger on a bicycle in front of the Tor Apartments in the 5700 block of Stevens Forest Road, police said.
As the two began to talk, the victim noticed a group of kids approaching him from behind. When the group approached him, one member struck the boy in the face with his fist, police said. Another member struck the victim with a skateboard.
The youths fled on foot after getting the boy's $150 skateboard, which was later recovered outside the apartment building, police said.
