The Anne Arundel County state's attorney told county law enforcement agencies to make arrests when they see slot machines paying off in money, and to take notes when they see them them paying off in merchandise. The latter is still legal in the county because the phase-out law is unclear. -- The Sun, July 2, 1968.

The Annapolis Summer Garden Theater, at the renovated Shaw Blacksmith Shop on the City Dock, will feature three dramatic productions, a concert series and a young people's drama workshop this summer. -- The Sun, July 7, 1968.

The Crownsville State Hospital in Anne Arundel County was for Negroes only until a desegregation order five years ago. A federal civil rights team is severely criticizing the hospital for still carrying about 60 percent of the total number of Negroes in the entire state system. -- The Sun, July 11, 1968.
