$8,500 in jewelry reported stolen

Jewelry valued at $8,500 has been reported stolen from the home of Sharyn Smith of Ruby Drive in The Greens of Westminster.

Ms. Smith told city police she discovered that the jewelry was missing about a month ago but thought she may have misplaced it and did not report it at that time.

She said she found a kitchen screen had been cut and called police to report that a diamond bracelet valued at $3,000, a diamond and sapphire bracelet worth $2,000 and three gold rings valued at $3,500 had been stolen.


* Westminster: A woman who lives on East Main Street told police that someone entered her house Wednesday and stole a wallet containing $100 from her purse.

The left rear window of a car parked on West Main Street was shattered Tuesday, the owner told city police. He estimated the loss at $110.


* Westminster: Engines from the Westminster and Pleasant Valley fire companies were dispatched at 3:53 p.m. Wednesday to a house fire on Johahn Drive. The engines were canceled after only two minutes.
