Greater Crofton group to discuss crowded schools WEST COUNTY--Crofton * Odenton * Fort Meade * Gambrills


Are you worried about crowded schools? Then plan to attend the Greater Crofton Council meeting at 7 p.m. today in the Crofton library. The council is to focus on the problem of crowded schools.

The council is composed of representatives from neighborhoods and communities in the Crofton area, but outside the Crofton tax district. The tax district is not a member, but usually sends a representative.

The meetings are open to residents of the greater Crofton area, including the tax district.


Del. John Gary, a Millersville Republican, will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of United We Stand America's Crofton chapter at 7 p.m. Monday, in the Crofton Library. United We Stand America is a national political organization that grew from the presidential campaign of independent Ross Perot. The Bowie-Crofton Significant Others Support (SOS) Group for Multiple Sclerosis will meet at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Church of the Redeemer, 7300 Race Track Road, Bowie. The group meets the third Friday of each month and is open to relatives and friends of someone who has MS. Information, call 972-0458.


The Rotary Club of Bowie-Crofton is seeking outstanding business and professional men and woman to visit the Philippines for four weeks in February 1994. They will be part of the Rotary Foundation's Group Study Exchange (GSE) Program. A team from the Philippines will visit this area in May 1994.

The GSE program provides Rotarians the opportunity to study another country, its people and institutions through study and discussion.

Members of the traveling group will stay in several Rotarians' homes to give them more opportunity to learn about the culture. Except for incidentals, all expenses are paid.

Applicants must have worked at least two full years in their business or profession.

The Crofton Runners conduct races of five and two miles on the fourth Saturday of each month at Crofton Park. An official timer and complimentary refreshments are provided. There is no entry fee and all runners are welcome. Information: 621-7302 or 721-0595.
