Five arrested on charges of marijuana possession ELLICOTT CITY/ELKRIDGE


Five people were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Ellicott City late Thursday night after Valley Mede residents complained about noisy teen-agers.

Arrested and released on their own recognizance were three Ellicott City men -- Brent Alan Showalter, 18, of the 3100 block of Elmmede Road; Paul Michael Shoukas, 18, of the 9700 block of Cypressmede Drive; and Daniel Aaron Cryer, 18, of the 9800 block of Michaels Way.

Two 17-year-olds, one from Glenelg and the other from Columbia, were released to their parents' custody.

Officers from the Street Drug Section arrested the teens near Nollwick Road and Michaels Way at 11:45 p.m. Thursday.

Officers said they confiscated a pipe, a water pipe and two small bags of marijuana.


* Ellicott City: 3700 block of Font Hill Drive: Bicycles were stolen from an unlocked garage Thursday afternoon.

3900 block of St. Johns Lane: A house was ransacked and jewelry and a coin collection stolen between early morning and early evening Thursday. The intruder entered through a basement window.
