Rain suspends Baysox game


NEW BRITAIN, Conn. -- For the fourth time this season, a Bowie Baysox game was suspended -- this one against New Britain after seven innings and a 1-1 score in Double-A Eastern League action.

The first rain delay lasted one hour and nine minutes before play was resumed at 10:07. Nine minutes later, the game was called due to rain.

New Britain (31-51) took a 1-0 lead in the fourth on Boo Moore's homer. The Baysox (44-39) tied the game on singles in the seventh by Brent Miller, Edgar Alfonzo and Stanton Cameron -- who drove in Miller for the tie.

The teams will complete the suspended game today before their scheduled game at 7:15 p.m.
