Hanover, Pa., pair held in theft of Westminster woman's purse NORTH--Manchester * Hampstead * Lineboro

A man and woman from Hanover, Pa., are being in lieu of $25,000 bond each in the York County Prison on charges connected to the theft of a Westminster woman's purse in Melrose early yesterday.

The suspects, Robin Christine Thomas, 33, and Anthony David Pozzuoli, 32, were captured in a car in the 2000 block of Baltimore Blvd. in Hanover by West Manheim Township police, who were on the lookout for the vehicle.

The victim's purse and money were found in the car, police said.

Both suspects were charged with receiving stolen goods, said a spokeswoman for the West Manheim police.

Maryland State Police also have charges pending against the pair, officials said.

The victim, Carrie Ann Bell, 24, told state police she was getting ++ into a friend's car in the parking lot of the Bachman Valley Inn in the 4500 block of Hanover Pike in Melrose at 12:36 a.m. when a vehicle pulled beside her, police reported. A woman passenger in the vehicle asked Ms. Bell for directions.

Ms. Bell told police that the woman grabbed the purse from her arm and the car sped off, heading north toward Pennsylvania.

The victim, who was not injured, told police her purse contained $145.

State police were given the license number of the thieves' car and notified West Manheim Township police to be on the lookout for the vehicle.
