Odenton growth panel set to meet next week
Odenton's Town Center Growth Management Committee has scheduled a meeting for next week in Annapolis, its first in more than seven months.
Alfred A. Shehab, committee chairman, said he will use the meeting to update committee members, some of whom have complained in recent weeks about delays and a lack of information.
Others feared that the 18-member panel of community leaders, developers and business owners might be defunct.
Appointed by County Executive Robert R. Neall 18 months ago, the committee has been trying to draft guidelines for the development of the 218 acres at the center of town and around its periphery.
County planning officials have said the delays result from the recent reorganization of county government, which disrupted many offices, including planning and zoning.
The planners have compiled reports completed by various subcommittees and plan to brief Mr. Neall before showing the possible overall plan to the committee.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Office of Planning and Zoning, off Riva Road.
