The Chesapeake Wildlife Sanctuary in Bowie, a nonprofit private wildlife rehabilitation hospital, needs volunteer transporters. Transporters are called to pick up injured or orphaned animals that people find. Mileage to and from the sanctuary is tax-deductible.

Magician Michael Chamberlin will visit the Crofton library at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. tomorrow. His visit is part of the Anne Arundel County Public Library's reading program. Seating is limited, so arrive early.
Overeaters Anonymous, a group for compulsive eaters, meets at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays and 7:30 p.m. Sundays at Community United Methodist Church, Riedel Road at Route 424 in Crofton.
The Crofton Chesapeake Toastmasters Club has elected the following officers: Jim Golato, president; Eric Smookler, vice president for education; Tom McCabe, vice president for membership; Marnie Fallon, secretary; Mickey Prosser, public relations; Bill Burlison, sergeant-at-arms; and Clay Heflebower, corporal-at-arms. The club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the True Pit Barbecue restaurant on Route 3 South. Stanley McCann and Roger Hansen are the guest speakers.
