Man surrenders in double slaying

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A man sought in the beating death of a couple in their Ashburton home Wednesday surrendered to police yesterday.

Charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of Emmanuel Burrus, 37, and his wife, Dawn, 29, of the 3400 block of Liberty Heights Ave., is Sean X. Griffin, 25, of the 2000 block of Woodbourne Ave., formerly a foreman in Mr. Burrus' landscaping business.

Police said Mr. Griffin argued with Mr. Burrus over money allegedly owed him when he was fired about two weeks ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Burrus were found by Mrs. Burrus' sister late Wednesday when she arrived at the house to find out why the woman had not reported for work in the pharmacy section of the Giant Food store at Liberty and Milford Mill roads.
