It's still not too late to sign your child up for the Summer Reading Program at the Brooklyn Park Library.
All youngsters entering grades 1 through 6 in the fall are invited to participate. Each child will receive a free pass to the Baltimore Zoo for signing up. In addition, they will be eligible for coupons for free food and entertainment depending on the number of books they read. Participants can also win prizes.
Interact Story Theatre will perform at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the library, 1 E. 11th Ave. Registration is not required for the hour-long show, however seating is limited and will be available on a first-come first-served basis. Bring your children and enjoy the show!
Brooklyn Heights United Methodist Church, 110 Townsend Ave., will have one church service on Sunday, July 11, at 10 a.m.
A reception for new pastor Charlotte Hendee will follow the service.
Brooklyn United Methodist Church, Fourth Street and Pontiac Avenue, encourages everyone to sign up for the summer talent program.
Each participant will be given $2 to invest. At the end of the summer, on Labor Day, all will be invited to bring their proceeds back to the church. Creative ideas and talent will help your
dollars grow for the church.

The eighth-grade officers are: Starr Lucas, president; Brian Forte, vice president; Kristy Barnes, secretary; and Eddie Engles, treasurer.
The ninth-grade officers are: Aaron Walenga, president; Shannon Shutt, vice president; Kim Ostrosky, secretary; Anne Chan, treasurer.
Hearty congratulations to Anne Chan, who received the "Outstanding String Player Award" of the year. Since string players weren't offered a separate class class, they met on their own time after school. Anne never missed a meeting and was a truly outstanding student.
North County High School news: The PTA Executive Board will have a new group of officers for the 1993-94 school year.
They are: Kevin Sheckels, president; Nancy Bilheimer and Gail Ebersole, vice presidents; Phyllis Lucas, secretary; Pat Combs, treasurer; Bob Nichols, teacher representative; and Rosemary Shomler, public relations.
* Summer school registration for junior high students is scheduled from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Glen Burnie High School.
The Brooklyn Park Youth Athletic Association will play host to the Tim Whittman and Mark Mettrick Soccer Camp Aug. 9-13.
Camp hours are 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. A separate goalie camp will be included.

St. John Lutheran Church, 226 Washburn Ave., is looking for volunteers for its tutoring program. Volunteers are needed one evening a week to help neighborhood children improve their reading skills.
The program begins Thursday, and continues through August. Training for tutors is available.
