Carter Award winner donates her $100 prize to MS Society

Barbara Moeller, winner of the Richard Carter Memorial Award for community involvement, is donating the $100 prize to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Ms. Moeller, who accepted the check from the Glen Burnie Improvement Association Tuesday, said the MS Society would put the money toward transporting clients to bowling. The GBIA offered the donation to a nonprofit organization of the winner's choice.

This was the third year for the GBIA award in memory of Mr. Carter, a longtime Glen Burnie activist who died in 1990.
