$30,000 available from teen grant program

The Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks and County Executive Robert R. Neall have provided $30,000 for quality teen recreation activities through the 1994 Teen Activity Grant Program.

The program offers funds to groups for the development of teen recreation activities set in a positive, drug- and alcohol-free environment.

The deadline for applications for this program is June 30.

Grants are available to all nonprofit community organizations in the county.

United Way names 7 to marketing committee

The United Way of Anne Arundel County has named seven community leaders to its marketing committee.

The committee is chaired by Danny Fullerton, regional vice president of Nationwide Insurance.

Other members are Jan Adkins, manager of advertising and merchandising for International Paper -- Nevamar Division; Reginald Broddie, executive director of Annapolis Boys and Girls Clubs; Del. Joan Cadden, D-31st; Richard Finn, director of sales and rooms at Loews Annapolis Hotel; Edward Kotok, a community volunteer; and Roni Septoff, marketing director of Marley Station shopping center.

The committee will focus on extended recognition and media relations, and will provide speakers to increase agency awareness.
