Annapolis man faces drug charges

An Annapolis man was charged with distribution of crack cocaine after police stopped him on Generals Highway near Fairfield Loop Road in Crownsville Friday morning.

Derek Zaron Wilson, 25, of the 500 block of Royal St., also was charged with possession of cocaine and driving with a suspended license, the police report said.

Officers stopped Mr. Wilson at 11:18 a.m. because the temporary license plate on his car appeared to have expired. The officers reported that they found he was driving with a suspended license and that, while searching his car, they found a brown paper bag with 50 grams of crack cocaine in it.

Mr. Wilson was taken to the Western District station to be charged.
