One of the biggest and best bargain spots will open for business Saturday at 8 a.m. when families of the Belle Grove community hold their yard sale.
Sale areas will be set up along Old Riverside Road and surrounding streets.

Summer Playgrounds, sponsored by the county Department of Recreation and Parks, will again be held at Brooklyn Park Elementary School, 200 14th Ave., and the Pumphrey Community Center on Belle Grove Road.
The playgrounds offer supervised activities for boys and girls ages 5 1/2 to 12. Daily hours are from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. beginning Monday, June 28, and continuing through Aug. 6.
Activities will include sports, arts and crafts and indoor and outdoor games.
Children are required to provide their own lunch and drink. The cost is $70 a child, $65 for each additional child from the same family. Registration is required.

Brooklyn Park Elementary School news: Fourth-grade students
will be visiting Washington tomorrow, while third-graders will tour the Smithsonian on Thursday.
Brooklyn Park/Lindale Middle Junior High School news: The eighth- and ninth-grade annual Academic Awards Program will take place at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday in the auditorium.
Invitations will be given to those students selected to receive awards. Parents are encouraged to attend.
* Vision and hearing screenings will take place this week for eighth-graders, new students, students referred from school health personnel and those referred in the previous year.
Congratulations to the students who entered the Short Story and Poetry Contest sponsored by the Woman's Club of Linthicum Heights.
Bryan Balonis won first place in the short story category, Jerrod Harris won first place in the poetry category and Sarika Singh and Kelly Karnes placed second in the short story competition.
Their entries have been sent to compete at the state level.
North County High School news: The Spring Concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the auditorium. Concert-goers will be entertained by the chorus, band, flags and pom-poms. Soda and baked goods will be sold.

* Parents of the North County feeder system are reminded to register kindergarten students now for the 1993-94 school year. All students need their immunization records, birth certificate and a proof of residence.

Brownie Troop 849, from Brooklyn Park Elementary School, will have its closing ceremonies at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow at the school. The girls will receive the badges they earned this year.
Four of the girls will be "bridging" to Junior Girl Scouts: Carrie Clevinger, Crystal Lucas, Amanda Schrader and Jennifer Taylor.
The Brooklyn Park Youth Athletic Association is accepting soccer registrations. Boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 15 are invited to play. Registration will take place at the Sugar Shack, at the 10th Avenue fields, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday. Fees are $25 for one child, $40 for two or more children.

* The Association will be sponsoring an Invitational Softball and Baseball Tournament beginning July 2. Teams will include T-ball, boys teams through 13-14 and girls teams through 11-12.

Alumni and parents are invited to the 20th anniversary of the YWCA Pre-school Program under the direction of Brenda Stephens.
