Woman is killed, 3 others injured in car accident
A Gambrills woman was fatally injured yesterday in a single-car accident that left another passenger of the car in critical condition and two others injured.
County police said Jessica Adrienne Goodman, 23, of the 2000 block of Hermitage Hills Drive, was killed in an early morning accident. She was pronounced dead at the scene. James Griffen, whose age and address were unknown, was taken to Prince George's Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
The driver of the car, Suzanne Kimberly Trisko, 22, of the 3600 block of Violetwood Place in Bowie, was taken to Anne Arundel General Hospital, where she was treated and released. Another passenger, James Coghlan, 27, of Nanjemoy in Charles County, was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. He was listed in satisfactory condition.
Police said Ms. Trisko was driving a 1983 Porsche 944 east on Defense Highway near Hermitage Hills at a high speed about 1:45 a.m. yesterday morning. The car left the roadway and struck a guard rail. The car continued along the guardrail before striking a Baltimore Gas and Electric pole, killing Ms. Goodman instantly, police said.
Police said the car slid across the road and into an embankment before it stopped.
Charges are pending following a review by the county State's Attorney's office.
