Money quarrel ends in stabbing of roommate

An argument over money at a Glen Burnie apartment escalated into a bloody fight early yesterday and ended when a 57-year-old man was stabbed in the shoulder.

County police said yesterday that George Henry Godwin of the 300 block of Gatewater Court was arguing with his roommate shortly before 5 a.m. when they began shoving each other.

He pushed his roommate into the kitchen, where she picked up a 10-inch knife and stabbed Mr. Godwin once in the left shoulder, police said.

Mr. Godwin was taken by ambulance to North Arundel Hospital where he was in satisfactory condition yesterday. His roommate, Kathleen T. Kozlowski, 33, was arrested and charged with assault with intent to maim and battery.
