A 19-year-old man was slain yesterday in Northeast Baltimor after an argument over a woman, according to police.
Police said it was the second killing in the city in less than 24 hours, bringing the number of slayings this year to 125, 14 more than at this time last year.
The latest victim, James Reynolds, of the 700 block of W. Saratoga St., was shot once in the back of the head, said Agent Doug Price, a police spokesman.
The shooting occurred shortly after noon when the victim was confronted by another man on the front porch of a house in the 1900 block of E. 28th St., Agent Price said.
The two men argued over a woman who lives in the house before Mr. Reynolds was shot, police said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said they are looking for a 20-year-old suspect.
In an unrelated incident, police said they have found no motive or suspects in the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man Monday night outside a public housing high-rise for the elderly in the 4300 block of Clareway on the East Side.
Damon A. Toodle of the 4100 block of Coleman Ave. was shot once in the head, according to police reports, just before 9 p.m. by an unknown gunman who fired several shots as he chased the victim outside Claremont Towers. During the incident, elderly residents told police, they ran inside the building in fright.
Police said the victim's body was found in the driveway in front of the 152-unit apartment building.
