Glen Burnie woman slain

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A woman was shot to death yesterday on the porch of her Glen Burnie home, and investigators were searching late last night for her boyfriend as a possible suspect, county police said.

Police said Gregory Edward Byrd, 29, whose last known address was in the 1700 block of Wilson Ave. in Lansdowne, was wanted for questioning in the woman's death.

The victim, whose name and age were not released, was shot with a 9 mm handgun about 5 p.m. as she stood on the porch of her home in the 7800 block of Twin Ridge Drive. Several neighbors witnessed the shooting, police said.

The neighbors said they had witnessed an argument between the victim and Mr. Byrd shortly before the shooting. Mr. Byrd was last seen driving from the area in a white 1986 Oldsmobile, police said.
