Census shows incomes increasing in Carroll

Carroll County's 1990 census figures show a 17.7 percent increase in the median household income from 1980 to 1990, the Baltimore Metropolitan Council reported this week.

Median household income, the middle figure of those reported, rose from $36,017 to $42,378 during the 10-year period.

Council members also noted that the median household income in Taneytown rose more than 20 percent from 1980 to 1990.

The increase is the second highest in the Baltimore region, next to Anne Arundel County, which rose 18.1 percent. Anne Arundel's median household income rose from $38,239 to $45,147 during the 10-year period.
