Six candidates are competing for three council seats in the election, which will be held May 18.

Clerk-treasurer may be named soon

Manchester may soon have a new clerk-treasurer.

Town Manager Terry Short said Friday he hopes to have a name to recommend to the Town Council by its meeting tomorrow.

Paul Kolar, Manchester's former clerk-treasurer, took a job in York, Pa., in April.

Six applicants were interviewed for the position Wednesday and Friday, Mr. Short said. The town received 41 applications for the job, he said.
