DRUG ARRESTS: Southwestern District -- At least seven men were arrested Friday by the district's drug enforcement task force on charges of conspiracy and possession of heroin and cocaine. The arrests were made by police allegedly witnessing drug violations in the first block of S. Pulaski St. and surrounding streets; more arrests were expected. The arrests followed a lengthy undercover surveillance operation that began when citizens reported drug activity in the area. Police struck about 2 a.m. Friday. Those arrested were being held at the police station pending bail hearings by a District Court commissioner. An unknown quantity of drugs also was seized.
SHOOTINGS: Western District -- Three boys, all from the 1500 block of W. Fairmount Ave., were treated early today at the University of Maryland Medical Center for minor gunshot wounds to the feet. The boys told police they, along with several other people, were watching two men fight in an alley behind the 1500 block of W. Baltimore St. shortly before midnight Thursday when someone in the crowd began firing a gun. No arrests had been made and the incident was under investigation.
FIREHOUSE BURGLARY: Western District -- While firefighters from Engine Company 52 in the 3500 block of Woodbrook Ave. were responding to an incident about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, someone entered the station and stole a microwave oven valued at more than $200.
ROBBERY: Western District -- A deliveryman for Vizzini's pizza in the 1200 block of W. Pratt St. was robbed of $150 by two men, one with a handgun, in the 1900 block of Lauretta Ave. Thursday night.
ASSAULT: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 3000 block of Thorndale Ave. in Pimlico was in the 5100 block of Park Heights Ave. Wednesday when he was attacked by a man who struck him several times on the left leg with an iron bar. The assailant escaped and the victim was taken to Sinai Hospital .
THEFT: Northwestern District -- Two bikes valued at more than $300 were stolen from the rear yard of a house in the 4100 block of Rogers Ave. Wednesday.
STOLEN CAR: Northwestern District -- Someone stole a 1983 Nissan with Maryland plates ZPF451 from the 2800 block of W. Cold Spring Lane Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
STOLEN CAR: Northwestern District -- A 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass with Maryland plates BTJ121 was stolen from the 3300 )) block of Burleith Ave. Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- An undisclosed number of State lottery tickets were stolen from Pimlico Check Cashing in the 4700 block of Park Heights Ave. Thursday morning by someone who entered through a rear third-floor window.
STOLEN CAR: Northwestern District -- A 1987 Dodge with Maryland plates TPN887 was stolen from the 4100 block of Patterson Ave. Thursday morning.
BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Someone entered a house in the 5500 block of Winton Ave. through a rear window Thursday and stole more than $1,000.
BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Property of unknown value was stolen from a house in the 3200 block of Oakfield Ave. Thursday.
STOLEN CAR: Northwestern District -- A 1988 Pontiac with Maryland plates JNY643 was stolen from the 5800 block of Jonquil Ave. Thursday.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- A gunman entered a house in the 4100 block of St. George's Ave. Thursday morning and was going from room-to-room when a female occupant asked what he wanted. When the
gunman told the woman he was looking for another man, she said the man was not there. The gunman left.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- A man entered the Levindale Adult Daycare Center in the 2400 block of W. Belvedere Ave. early Thursday morning and was scared-off by an employee.
THEFT: Northern District -- Someone entered a 1989 Toyota parked in the first block of W. 29th St. Thursday after breaking a window and stole clothing and cash, all valued at $75.
THEFT: Northern District -- A ceramic flower pot with flowers, all valued at $65, was stolen from the front porch of a house in the 3500 block of Newland Road Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
THEFT: Northern District -- Copper downspouting valued at $300 was stolen from the roof of the Maryland Geological Survey in the 2300 block of St. Paul St. Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
PURSE SNATCH: Northern District -- A resident of the 3900 block Greenmount Ave. was walking near her home Thursday morning when a man wearing a red, hooded sweat shirt stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at $150.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered an office at Johns Hopkins University in the 3400 block of N. Charles St. Wednesday night or Thursday morning and stole a telephone and several hockey and lacrosse sticks, all valued at nearly $600.
THEFT: Northern District -- Property valued at $114 and owned by a student at Johns Hopkins University was stolen from a locker at the school Thursday.
THEFT: Northern District -- Someone entered the back yard of a house in the 700 block of W. 37th St. Thursday morning and stole a bird cage and the bird, all valued at nearly $50.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Lawn-care equipment valued at $100 was stolen from a garage in the 4400 block of Underwood Road Thursday.
THEFT: Northern District -- A purse containing cash and property, all valued at $125, was stolen from an office in the 100 block of W. 23rd St. Thursday.
THEFT: Northern District -- An 18-speed bike valued at $300 and owned by a resident of the 600 block of E. 29th St. was stolen from a Johns Hopkins University building .
THEFT: Northern District -- A gas-operated cooking grill valued at nearly $150 was stolen from the back porch of a house in the 3100 block of Keswick Road Thursday.
BURGLARY: Towson District -- Someone entered the Towson Health Center in the 8800 block of Orchard Tree Lane Wednesday night or Thursday morning through a door and stole a fax machine, copier and a VCR, all valued at nearly $2,300.
STOLEN CAR: Towson District -- A 1988 Chrysler Conquest with Maryland plates AAM058 was stolen from the firs block of Columbine Court Thursday.
THEFT/ARRESTS: Abingdon -- Police arrested four men suspected of stealing several cartons of cigarettes from Party Place in the 3400 block of Emmorton Road Thursday and were holding them at the county detention center pending charges. The men were in a car seen leaving Toy Works in the first block of S. Parkway, where men fitting their description stole nearly $150 in toys earlier. Property believed taken from both businesses was in the car.
