Town meeting set to discuss runoff into bay

The state and the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay are sponsoring a town meeting Tuesday to discuss the effects of runoff from Prince George's, Anne Arundel and Calvert counties into the Chesapeake Bay.

The meeting is planned from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center conference room in Edgewater.

Experts will discuss Maryland's rivers and the progress made to reduce pollution from agriculture, development and sewage treatment.

Supplies disappear from medical plan office

Since mid-April, employees of the Columbia Medical Plan office in Annapolis have noticed supplies disappearing, including seven pillows worth $70.

Company officials notified police Wednesday. They said one or two pillows were missing each time a delivery was made to the office in the 100 block of Admiral Cochran Drive.

Other missing items included a stethoscope worth $15 and two podiatry instruments worth $100.
