Morgan Run Bridge to close for 1993
The Morgan Run Bridge over Liberty Reservoir on Route 32 will close today through Dec. 31 for extensive repairs, State Highway Administration officials said yesterday.
A sign announcing the closing was posted along the road last month, a spokesman said.
The bridge repair is part of a $2.7 million contract awarded to Richard F. Kline of Frederick.
It will cover six miles of Route 32 from Route 26 to Nottingham Road.
It includes resurfacing and safety improvements on the highway.
Flaggers, variable message signs and traffic cones will be used during the construction from Route 26 to Morgan Run and from Morgan Run to Nottingham Road, officials said.
Suggested detours for northbound motorists are Route 26 (Liberty Road) west to Route 97, north to Route 32 then south, or north, on that highway.
Southbound motorists on Route 91 should go north on Route 32 to Route 97 and south to Route 26, then east to Route 32.
* Marriottsville: Someone cut the molding around the back window on a 1990 Ford parked in the 800 block of Marriottsville Road and removed the glass to enter the vehicle about 8:30 p.m. April 20. All four doors on the vehicle were pried and the locks were damaged. A rear tire was flattened also. A $250 miter box and a $170 cordless drill were stolen.
