Man, 35, cuts self with chain saw

A 35-year-old Union Mills man who suffered two deep cuts to his left leg from the chain saw he was using was released after treatment at Carroll County General Hospital Sunday night.

Darrell Jones, 100 block of East Deep Run Road, was taken to the hospital by the crew of the Pleasant Valley Fire Company medic unit after immediate emergency medical treatment at the scene.

His two cuts were about two inches long and three-quarters of an inch deep, hospital officials said.


* Westminster: A Shaeffer Avenue resident reported to police that someone stole his $800 bicycle from the 100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue on Friday. The bike has a purple frame with white handlebars, tires and rims. It was not locked or secured, police were told.

A Poole Road resident told police someone damaged the door and --board of his car Saturday in an attempt to remove the radio. He estimated the damage at $200.
