Manchester reschedules budget work session

The Manchester Town Council has scheduled a work session on the budget to follow the regular business meeting April 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall.

Originally scheduled for tonight, the work session was postponed after Mayor Earl A.J. "Tim" Warehime Jr. was called out of town to work on cleaning up a large diesel fuel spill in northern Virginia. Mr. Warehime works for Colonial Pipeline Co., which owns the pipeline that ruptured.

The town's ad-hoc committee on water and sewers will meet April 7 at 6:30 p.m.

Town Manager Terry Short said the committee will discuss water and sewer rates and the planned expansion of sewer service to Charmil Drive.

He said the committee would also hear a presentation on a water-meter system the town is considering buying.
