Pizza Hut manager robbed of store's cash

Howard County police are searching for a gunman who ordered a Pizza Hut manager back into the closed restaurant early Saturday on Baltimore National Pike, then stole an undetermined amount of cash.

At about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, a Pizza Hut manager was approached by a man in the parking lot of the restaurant, in the 10100 block of Baltimore National Pike, police said. The robber said he had a gun and ordered the manager back into the closed restaurant, police said.

Once inside, he ordered the manager to open the safe, police said. That attempt was unsuccessful, and the gunman took only the restaurant's night deposit, police said.

He fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.
