Developer cited in parking violation

A local developer is suspected of running afoul of the county by allegedly illegally parking a 40-foot trailer on a Severna Park street.

Residents of Balsam Street have complained to the county building inspector about developer Richard Palm's trailer, which is being used as a sales office for homes in a new development, Severna Forest Estates.

The county issued two violation notices in the past week and must now give Mr. Palm 30 days to remove the trailer, said Bill Bryant, the county's chief building inspector.

Mr. Palm was cited for parking a motor home illegally on a county road in Severna Forest. Severna Forest Estates is being built adjacent to Severna Forest.

Mr. Palm's office did not return calls. John Coile, the vice president of Champion Realty, which is selling the homes, could not be reached.
