Mount Airy man faces drug, arms charges
A 26-year-old Mount Airy man was released on his own recognizance after Frederick County sheriff's deputies found a machete, a smoking pipe and two bags of marijuana in his truck when they stopped him for an alleged traffic violation early Saturday.
The suspect, identified as Paul Yeager, was charged with possession of a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after the 2:30 a.m. traffic stop on Grove Road, the sheriff's department reported.
Authorities said they found the weapon and drugs in the defendant's 1973 Ford pickup truck.
* Mount Airy: 16900 block of Moss Meadow Way: A window was found propped open March 12. No entry was gained.
* Woodbine: Engines from Winfield and Mount Airy of Carroll County and a unit from Howard County were dispatched for a house fire on Woodbine Road at 8:38 p.m. Sunday. They were out for 36 minutes.
* Bloom: Winfield units responded for a pole fire on Muller Road at 7:55 p.m. Thursday. They were out for 75 minutes.
