Armed with a note, man tries to hold up Household Bank
County police are looking for a man who attempted to rob the Household Bank in the 5400 block of Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park Saturday afternoon.
At 2:58 p.m., police reported, the man handed an envelope to the teller that said, "This is a robbery. Give me all the $20-$50- $100. I have a gun."
The suspect took the letter and ran from the bank without taking any money, police said.
Police described the suspect as a white man, between the ages of 19 and 21, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing between 130 and 140 pounds. He had short dark hair and was wearing a black baseball hat, a black waist-length coat and jeans.
Two are charged with drug offenses
State police arrested two men Saturday night on drug charges at Belle Grove Road and 10th Avenue in Brooklyn Park.
William R. Besslin, 19, of the 300 block of Washburn Ave., Brooklyn Park, was charged with drug possession and possession with intent to distribute. William M. Lark, 18, of the 3400 block of Hopkins Ave., Lansdowne, was charged with possession. A trooper stopped Mr. Besslin's car at 8:30 p.m. when he noticed the headlights were out. Police said they seized 41 grams of marijuana and a 1986 Ford.
