SHA to study improving Route 30
The Maryland State Highway Administration will study ways to improve traffic flow on Route 30 through Hampstead, Town Manager John A. Riley told the Town Council Monday.
Gene Straub, assistant district engineer for traffic with the SHA, said a consultant with the firm Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson would do a study of short-term strategies that can be used to improve traffic flow through the town.
He said the study would concentrate on parking problems in Hampstead and possible ways to improve traffic lights at the town's intersections.
Mr. Straub said the study would cost the state about $2,000. He said the council should have its findings by the end of April.
