Savage Mill design show moved to this weekend

Postponed by the blizzard, the Home Design Weekend marking the seventh anniversary of Historic Savage Mill will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Savage.

The weekend will be filled with demonstrations, displays and mini-classes on wall and window treatments, room make-overs, how colors and patterns can work together, decorative painting techniques and antiques as an investment.

Approximately 150 rugs and wall hangings will be displayed by the Association of Traditional Hooking Artists. The makers of these "magic carpets" will be on hand to demonstrate their centuries-old craft.

Demonstrations are free to the public and will be repeated both days. A complete list with times and mini-classes will be posted near the entrances of the New Weave Building, the Courtyard and the New Glass Atrium Entrance.
