Vernon Gray to be 'roasted' on Sunday

County Councilman C. Vernon Gray will be "roasted" at a black-tie dinner party beginning at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Spear Center in the Rouse Co. in Columbia.

Proceeds will benefit the Maryland Museum of African Art in Columbia.

Roasters include Wilson Goode, former mayor of Philadelphia, Judge Robert Bell, Claude Ligon and Sandra Gray.

Cocktail-hour entertainment will be provided by Damon Foreman performing light jazz and Dawn Cooper-Barnes performing African dance.

Sunday on Cedar Lane, something shattered the right side window.

* Hickory Ridge: 10700 block of Little Patuxent Parkway: Someone scratched the passenger side of a 1987 Chevrolet Celebrity between 3 p.m. March. 2 and 10 a.m. March. 7.

* Town Center: 5600 block of Vantage Point Road: Someone slashed the front tire on a 1990 Toyota Camry between 8:30 p.m. March 9 and 7:15 a.m. March. 10.
