Largo defeats High Point for berth in final Boys Class 4A semifinals

COLLEGE PARK -- Robert Miller scored a game-high 31 points and Everett Scott and Arnett Young added 15 apiece as Largo defeated Prince George's County rival High Point, 83-76, in a Class 4A state semifinal last night at Cole Field House.

Largo (17-4) will meet the winner of last night's other semifinabetween Meade and Springbrook for the state title tomorrow at 8.

Despite being out-rebounded, the Lions held the Eagles to 37-percent field-goal shooting and forced 27 turnovers. They broke open a close game with a 10-2 third-quarter run.

Kenny Avent led High Point (18-5) with 20 points and 15 rebounds.
