Police charge 4 with making drugs

County police say they seized 14 grams of crack cocaine and $220 during a raid of a Freetown Village home Wednesday night.

Undercover narcotics detectives served a search warrant at a home in the 7800 block of Freetown Road at 8:30 p.m., after receiving several complaints of drug trafficking in the home. They also seized assorted drug paraphernalia, police said.

Carl Everett Johnson, 41; Clara Elizabeth Johnson, 60; Oscar Lee Johnson, 70; and Jeffrey L. Smith, 20, all of the 7800 block of Freetown Road, were charged with manufacturing crack cocaine.

Highway agency plans to end bridge repairs

The State Highway Administration expects to finish patching the blacktop of the bridge carrying I-97 over Route 176 today.

The work is being done this week on the northbound lanes. Workers are patching the lanes, sometimes closing one, during nonrush hours, said a SHA spokesman.


* Glen Burnie Burglars broke into a home in the 100 block of Olan Drive Sunday. Police do not know what was taken.
