Karic leads NPSL American stars

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Crunch's Zoran Karic scored three goals to capture Most Valuable Player honors and lead the American Division to a 15-14 win over the National Division in the National Professional Soccer League All-Star game last night before a crowd of 9,179.

The American Division, which has now won three straight All-Star games, trailed 6-0 before the Baltimore Spirit's Tim Wittman scored a 2-point goal with 15 seconds left in the first quarter.

Karic and Crunch teammate Hector Marinaro scored five of the next six goals to tie the game 8-8 at half-time.
