Gold Rule Award nominations

Maryland nonprofit organizations have until Friday to nominate their outstanding volunteer for the 1993 J.C. Penney Golden Rule Award, which will be presented during Volunteer Week in April.

In this 10th year of the Golden Rule seven winners, including youth and education recipients, will be chosen. Each winner will receive a sculpture symbolizing the spirit of voluntarism while his or her organization will get a $1,000 grant. Ten finalist will receive a $250 grant for their volunteer group and a certificate of recognition.

The Maryland representatives will advance to the J.C. Penney National Golden Rule Awards where winners will receive a sculpture and a $10,000 organizational grant. The national youth winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship and a $5,000 contribution to his or her nonprofit group.

Nomination forms can be obtained at the catalog desk at J.C. Penney stores or by calling 298-8100.
