Riviera Beach woman hurt in Hanover crash
A 70-year-old Riviera Beach woman was critically injured yesterday afternoon when she drove her car into the path of a 20-ton truck at the intersection of Dorsey and Old Telegraph roads in Hanover, state police reported.
Anne Marie Leyland, of the 200 block Dunlap Road, was driving a 1985 Oldsmobile west on Dorsey Road shortly before 1 p.m. when she attempted a left turn onto Telegraph Road. Her car was struck on the passenger side by the truck owned by C. Hoffberger & Co. and driven by William F. Perkins, 29, of the 1300 block of Sugarwood Circle in Essex, police said.
Mr. Perkins was treated for minor injuries at the scene. Ms. Leyland was flown by state police Med Evac helicopter to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. She was in critical condition last night.
Police said no charges were lodged immediately, and the accident remained under investigation.
