Students suspended in alcohol incident
Twenty-three Severna Park High School students were suspended for up to five days after being caught with alcohol on the school parking lot during a Valentine's Day dance.
Special Assistant to the Superintendent of schools Huntley J. Cross confirmed the suspensions. He said most of the students were suspended for possession of beer or liquor and the others for drinking it.
Police officers patrolling the parking lot during the Feb. 13 spotted the liquor in several cars, Mr. Cross said, and stopped the youngsters as they returned to them after the dance.
All of the students have served their suspensions and are back in school, Mr. Cross said.
