PURSE SNATCH: Southern District -- A resident of the 1400 block of W. Lombard St. was unlocking the front door of her home Tuesday afternoon when a man approached her from the rear and stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at more than $100.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- Someone entered a house in the 600 block of W. Conway St. Tuesday through a first-floor window and stole jewelry, a telephone and a VCR, all valued at $1,700.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- Computer equipment valued at more than $7,000 was stolen from Dr. Rib's Restaurant in the 3000 block of S. Hanover St. between Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning by someone who entered through a rear door.

STOLEN CAR: Southern District -- Someone stole a 1990 Hyundai with Maryland tags YNG380 from the 200 block of S. Carey St. last week.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- Someone entered the Greater Church of Jesus Christ in the first block of S. Stockton St. Monday night. It was not immediately known if any property was taken.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Two TVs, a VCR, toaster, telephone and a microwave oven, all valued at nearly $600, were stolen from a house in the 1300 block of Whatcoat St. Monday by someone who entered through a rear door.

ASSAULT: Western District -- A resident of the 1600 block of Bruce Court was injured Tuesday morning when a man with whom she was arguing in her home struck her several times with a piece of wood. The man was arrested; the woman taken to the Liberty Medical Center for treatment and released.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered a storage shed that is owned by the Sandtown-Winchester Development Corp. in the 900 block of N. Fulton Ave. over the weekend and stole a snow blower and a ladder.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A cordless telephone was stolen from a house in the 800 block of N. Fulton Ave. Tuesday afternoon by a man the occupant knows.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 1800 block of Harlem Ave. was riding his multispeed bike in the 1800 block of Arunah Ave. Tuesday morning when a man knocked him off the bicycle and stole it.

THEFT: Western District -- Someone entered a car parked in the 1900 block of Elgin Ave. Sunday night or Monday morning and stole an AM-FM radio.

THEFT/ARREST: Western District -- Police arrested a man Tuesday who attempted to leave the Farm Fresh store in Mondawmin Mall without paying for merchandise.

THEFT: Western District -- A resident of the 2900 block of Violet Ave. was inside a store in the 2400 block of Liberty Heights Ave. Monday afternoon when a man stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at more than $40.

THEFT: Western District -- Someone entered a patient's room at Bon Secours Hospital in the 2000 block of W. Baltimore St. Tuesday morning and stole $25 from inside the patient's pillow.

THEFT: Western District -- A Department of Social Services check for nearly $360 was stolen from the mailbox of a house in the 600 block of N. Carey St. Monday.

THEFT: Western District -- Police were seeking a man who entered a house in the 1300 block of W. Lafayette Ave. Tuesday morning and stole property valued at nearly $900.

THEFT: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 1500 block of Edmondson Ave. was in the 2000 block of N. Hilton St. Monday when someone reached into his pockets and stole $40.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone entered a house in the 4900 block of Wetheredsville Road Monday evening and stole a telephone and several coins.

ROBBERY/SHOOTING: Southwestern District -- Police were seeking a man who shot a resident of the 100 block of Palormo Court in the back with a shotgun during a robbery Tuesday morning in the first block of Benkert Ave. The victim was running away from the gunman after being robbed when several shotgun pellets hit him in the back. The shooting occurred a such close range, police said, that the wadding from the shell embedded itself in the man's jacket. He was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center for treatment and was in good condition. The gunman escaped.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A man armed with an unknown weapon robbed a resident of the 3000 block of Rayner Ave. of $25 in the 3000 block of Brighton St. Tuesday morning.

STOLEN CAR: Southwestern District -- A 1990 Hyundai with Maryland tags XVT884 was stolen from the 500 block of Wickham Road Tuesday.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone entered the quarters of city Fire Department Engine 53 in the 600 block of Swann Ave. Monday night or Tuesday morning and stole personal property from a firefighter's locker.

THEFT: Southwestern District -- An employee of Lenny's money exchange in the 3100 block of W. North Ave. was expected to seek a warrant today charging a person with stealing an undisclosed sum from the firm between Feb. 27 and March 1.

THEFT: Southwestern District -- Someone entered 3 Brothers service station in the 3900 block of Frederick Ave. Monday night or Tuesday morning and stole $700.

THEFT: Southwestern District -- Someone entered a house in the 3900 block of Woodridge Road early Tuesday morning and stole $100 from the occupant's purse.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 2800 block of Woodland Ave. was in the 4900 block of Reisterstown Road Tuesday morning when a man robbed her of her purse and a coat.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Someone entered a house in the 3300 block of Fairview Ave. Monday and stole a coat.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a resident of the 5200 block of St. Charles Ave. of his wallet containing $13 in the 3700 block of W. Belvedere Ave. Tuesday.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A gunman robbed Cohn's bakery in the 6800 block of Reisterstown Road of an undisclosed sum Tuesday.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Two VCRs and a TV were stolen Tuesday afternoon after someone entered an apartment in the 3200 block of Howard Park Ave.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: Towson District -- A pizza deliveryman was shot at Tuesday night during a robbery in the first block of Solar Circle. The man delivered a pizza to a customer shortly before 9 p.m. and was returning to his car when he was grabbed from behind by two men, one armed with a handgun, who robbed him of $15. After taking the money, the gunman fired a shot at the victim, missing him. Both men fled on foot and the deliveryman returned to the store.

BURGLARY: Towson District -- Someone entered a house in the 6600 block of Glenbarr Court Monday and stole a VCR and an entertainment center.

BURGLARY: Towson District -- Nearly $200 was stolen from a house in the 700 block of Kenilworth Drive Tuesday morning after someone entered by breaking a rear door window with a rock and then unlocking the door.

STOLEN CAR: Towson District -- Someone stole a 1992 Accura Legend from the first block of Huntchase Court Tuesday morning.

BURGLARY: Towson District -- A wallet containing nearly $50 was stolen from the dormitory room of a student at Goucher College in the 1000 block of Dulaney Valley Road Tuesday.

HARFORD COUNTY

BURGLARY: Joppa -- Someone entered a house in the 500 block of Newberry Court Tuesday and stole camera equipment, several pieces of jewelry and other items, all valued at more than $2,000.

BURGLARY: Edgewood -- Property valued at more than $1,500 was stolen from a house in the 600 block of Hornbeam Road Monday. Several pieces of jewelry, cassette tapes and video game equipment were taken.

VANDALISM: Edgewood -- Someone poured a corrosive liquid onto a 1987 Ford Thunderbird while it was parked in the 3400 block of Albantowne Way Tuesday morning, causing $800 worth of damage. In a possibly related incident, someone cut the rear tires of a 1974 Ford Pinto Tuesday, also in the 3400 block of Albantowne Way, causing $100 damage.

STOLEN CAR: Bel Air -- A 1986 Toyota 4-Runner was stolen from the 900 block of Redfield Court over the weekend.
