Woman, 40, is killed in head-on collision

A head-on crash between two vehicles near the Maryland-Pennsylvania line claimed the life of a 40-year-old New Oxford, Pa., woman Sunday, police said.

Linda A. Gobrecht, of the 4300 block of York Road, was pronounced dead at Hanover General Hospital shortly after the 4:30 p.m. accident.

The accident occurred on Route 94, a continuation of Maryland's Route 30, about 180 feet north of the Mason-Dixon line. Medical units from Manchester and Lineboro assisted York County, Pa., crews at the accident scene.

West Manheim Township Police said the victim was driving a 1979 Toyota Celica north on Route 94 when a southbound 1986 Subaru station wagon operated by Merle Hollinger, 40, of Hanover, crossed the center line and collided with the Gobrecht car.

Mr. Anderson and Mr. Hollinger were treated and released at Hanover General Hospital.
