New York Mets -- Agreed to terms with P Eric Hillman, IF Jeff Kent and OF Darren Reed on one-year contracts.

Seattle Mariners -- Agreed to terms with OF Jay Buhner and P Norm Charlton on one-year contracts.


NBA -- Suspended Chicago Bulls G Michael Jordan for one game without pay and fined him $10,000 for throwing a punch in a game on Feb. 10. Fined Indiana Pacers G Reggie Miller $6,000 for fighting in a game Wednesday.

Los Angeles Clippers -- Signed F Alex Stivrins to a 10-day contract.

Los Angeles Lakers -- Announced that a sprained left wrist will sideline rookie G Anthony Peeler (10.8 ppg) for at least 10 days.


Morehead State -- Named Richard May defensive line coach.

North Carolina -- Extended football coach Mack Brown's contract through 1997.

Tennessee -- Announced that WR Craig Faulkner (31 catches for yards) and LB Jeremy Spivey will take medical scholarships for the 1993 season and end their playing careers.


Hartford Whalers -- Named Steve Weeks goaltending coach.

Quebec Nordiques -- Recalled D Len Esau from AHL Halifax.

Tampa Bay Lightning -- Acquired RW Herb Raglan from the Quebec Nordiques for F Martin Simard, F Michel Mongeau and F Steve Tuttle.

Track and field USA Track & Field -- Announced that Art McDermott, a shot putter and discus thrower for the New York Athletic Club, will be able to compete again after Feb. 22. He was suspended two years ago for testing positive for the steroid stanozolol.
