The Washington Bullets continued to shuffle the bottom of their roster, replacing 12th man Chris Corchiani with guard Steve Burtt, who has had previous NBA trials with the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Clippers and the Phoenix Suns.
Corchiani, who had been waived earlier this season by the Orlando Magic, got a 10-day trial with Washington after rookie guard Doug Overton was lost for six to eight weeks with thumb surgery. He had three minutes of action.
The Bullets had invited Burtt, 30, to training camp this summer, but the Iona graduate opted to play in Greece, where he averaged 31 points before he returned to the United States. Burtt was leading the CBA in scoring, averaging 24.2 points for the Oklahoma City Cavalry.
He was a second-round pick by Golden State in 1984 after he averaged 20.9 points as a collegian. Last season, the 6-foot-2 guard averaged 8.0 points in 31 games for the Suns.
