There's no reason for the winter blahs to settle during the next few months, thanks to a wide variety of classes being offered by the Mount Airy Recreation Council.
The most recent addition to the roster of adult classes is Cake Decorating 1 with instructor Robbie Raynes. This class will be held in the Mount Airy Middle School cafeteria from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays, from Feb. 2 to Feb. 23. The fee is $20 plus supplies.

Other adult offerings include Country Dancing with Dolly and David Graham on Friday evenings from 7:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. from Jan. 15 to March 19 in the Mount Airy Elementary School cafeteria. The fee is $70 per couple. Call (301) 694-0720.
Painting with Watercolor lessons given by Gloria Klaunberg will resume on Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. from Jan. 13 to March 17 in the art room at Mount Airy Elementary. The fee for lessons is $37.50 per student plus the cost of supplies. Call (410) 442-2273.
Karen Sheridan will instruct Ballet for Adults at Calvary United Methodist Church on Tuesdays from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. for eight weeks beginning Jan. 19, and Tap for Adults classes in the Mount Airy Middle School cafeteria on Wednesdays from 8:10 p.m. to 9:10 p.m. from Jan. 20 to March 10.
