ROBBERY/SHOT FIRED: Western District -- A United Parcel Service investigator broke up an attempted robbery of a company truck at 4 p.m. Tuesday and was shot at, but not hit, in the process. Two men, one with a gun, took truck keys from a driver in the 2400 block of Calverton Heights Ave. But as the gunman went to the rear of the truck, Gary Kulik, the investigator who had seen the robbery of the keys, approached. The shot was fired at him, but the two robbers ran off without getting anything.

ASSAULT: Western District -- A warrant was to be issued today for a man who placed a gun to the head of a woman in the 1600 block of N. Calvert St. Monday and ordered her to give up her property. The suspect and the woman, who lives in the 1600 block of N. Calvert St., know each other. The woman was not injured.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Gold and diamond bracelets, rings and other jewelry valued at $4,000 were stolen from a house in the 2800 block of Baker St. Monday morning by someone who entered through a window on the roof.

SHOOTING: Western District -- A resident of the 600 block of Cumberland St. is listed in good condition at the University of Maryland Medical Center after being shot in the side Monday night a block from home.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered a house in the 2800 block of Brighton St. Monday morning through a rear door and stole $30.

ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 1100 block of N. Fremont Ave. was robbed of his coat Monday by three men who assaulted him in the 2300 block of Warwick Ave.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Two men, one with a gun, robbed the attendant at the Secure parking lot in the 700 block of Eastern Ave. Tuesday night of an undisclosed sum.

THEFT: Central District -- Someone entered a car Tuesday while it was parked in the 200 block of N. Liberty St. and stole two model houses used for Christmas decorations. The houses were valued at $300.

BURGLARY: Central District -- A watch, cash, Christmas gifts and jewelry, all valued at nearly $1,500, were stolen from a house Tuesday by someone who entered through a skylight on the roof.

THEFT: Central District -- Someone entered a car Tuesday while it was parked in the first block of S. Eutaw St. and stole a cassette radio valued at $200.

THEFT: Central District -- A leather coat valued at $440 was stolen Tuesday afternoon from the ballroom at the Tremont Plaza Hotel in the 200 block of St. Paul Place.

THEFT: Central District -- A resident of the 700 block of Mulberry St. was standing in the 300 block of W. Lexington St. Tuesday afternoon when a man walked by and snatched $200 from her hands.

ROBBERY: Central District -- Two men, one with a gun, robbed Halal Foods in the 100 block of E. North Ave. Tuesday of an undisclosed amount of cash.

THEFT CHARGE: Southern District -- Michael Endres, 37, of the 600 block of Park Ave., was arrested Tuesday night and charged with stealing money from the pocket of another man in Smitty's Bar in the first block of E. West St. Mr. Endres was to have a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Two men, one with a gun, robbed a resident of the 300 block of S. Smallwood St. of $23 Monday in the 200 block of Goldsmith St.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Cash and property, all valued at $819, was stolen Monday from a house in the 700 block of N. Denison St. by someone who entered through the front door.

THEFT: Southwestern District -- Someone entered a house in the 3500 block of Benzinger Road Monday and stole a door valued at $400.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Property valued at nearly $3,000 was stolen from a house in the 500 block of Lucia Ave. Monday morning by someone who entered through a basement window.

ARREST: Southwestern District -- Vernon White, 21, of the 4700 block of Frederick Ave., was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with attempted auto theft, assault and assault with a deadly weapon after the owner of a 1983 Mazda saw a man trying to steal the vehicle in the 4600 block of Pen Lucy Road. During the confrontation, the car owner was struck several times with a device used to start cars and also was bitten on the right hand, police said. Mr. White was being held at the police station in lieu of $50,000 bail pending a bail review hearing in District Court.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone stole property valued at $2,100 from the office of the Loudon Park Cemetery in the 3800 block of Frederick Ave. Monday night or Tuesday morning.

ROBBERY TRY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 400 block of Hazlett Ave. was walking near his home Tuesday morning when a gunman ordered him to give up his money. When the gunman frisked the victim and found no money, he fled.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A driver for Utz Quality Foods in the 900 block of High St. was robbed of $30 Tuesday morning by a gunman in the 700 block of Edgewood St.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A deliveryman for Frito-Lay in the 3100 block of Viona Ave. was robbed of a check for $73 and a ring Monday morning by a gunman in the 600 block of Mount Holly St.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone entered a house in the 3000 block of W. North Ave. through a rear door Tuesday and stole property valued at nearly $500.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A gunman robbed a driver for the Carroll Independent Fuel Co. in the 2700 block of Loch Raven Road of $8 Tuesday in the 600 block of Walnut Ave. Later, police recovered the victim's money. The gunman escaped.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A resident of the 1700 block of Chilton St. was robbed of his money and 1990 Mazda Monday by a gunman in the 900 block of Beaumont Ave.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone stole two VCRs, a jacket and a compact disc player, all valued at $550, from a house in the 600 block of McCabe Ave. Monday night or Tuesday morning.

RAPE: Northern District -- Police are seeking a man who raped a resident of the 4600 block of Old York Road in an isolated area off the 6200 block of York Road early Tuesday morning. After escaping, the woman was treated at Mercy Medical Center and released.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A gunman robbed Sam and Andy's market in the 2000 block of Huntingdon Ave. Monday night of nearly $200.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Two men robbed a resident of the 3200 block of Greenmount Ave. of cash and property, all valued at $200, Monday night in the 2800 block of Guilford Ave.

THEFT/ARRESTS: Northern District -- Police arrested two teen-agers and charged them with stealing three cassette tapes valued at $45 from a car parked in the 3200 block of Frisby St. Monday night. The youths were released into the custody of their parents.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone entered a truck owned by the Abbott Brothers Plumbing Co. in the 3600 block of Elm Ave. while it was parked near the company's property over the weekend and stole power tools valued at $900.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A TV, VCR, camcorder and at least two police scanners, all valued at more than $1,000, were stolen from a house in the 3500 block of Hickory Ave. Monday by someone who enter through a rear door.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Jewelry valued at more than $13,000 was stolen from a house in the 2100 block of Western Run Drive over the weekend by someone who forced a rear bedroom window.

Baltimore County

BURGLARY: Parkville District -- Someone entered a house in the 2400 block of Cub Hill Road Tuesday afternoon through an unlocked side door and ransacked several rooms, stealing $150 and jewelry valued at $7,000.

ROBBERY: Wilkens District -- A man with a sawed-off shotgun robbed the Hair Cuttery in the first block of Melrose Ave. Tuesday of an undiscosed sum. The gunman drove off.

ROBBERY: North Point District -- A man with a large hunting knife robbed the Crown service station in the 1500 block of Merritt Boulevard of an undisclosed sum early today. The man, who had a large slash mark on his wrist, told a station attendant he had tried to kill himself earlier. The man drove off in a primer-colored car.

ROBBERY: White Marsh District -- A resident of the 8800 block of Pensbury Place was robbed of her purse containing cash and property, all valued at $85, Tuesday night while getting out of her car in front of her home by two men.

AUTO THEFT/FIRE: Cockeysville District -- Someone stole a 1990 Honda Accord from the 1700 block of Troyer Road in Monkton about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, drove it to Priceville Road and Bellclaire Circle in Sparks, and set it on fire less than 20 minutes later.

AUTO THEFT: White Marsh District -- A 1987 Chevrolet Iroc, valued at $7,500, was stolen Tuesday from the parking lot at the White Marsh Mall in the 8200 block of Perry Hall Boulevard.

AUTO THEFT: White Marsh District -- A 1988 Hyundai was stolen from the parking lot of Essex Community College in the 7200 block of Rossville Boulevard Tuesday afternoon.

Harford County

THEFT: Joppa -- At least two outside telephones in the 700 block of Pulaski Highway were vandalized Tuesday by someone who stole money. Damage to the phones and the money taken was estimated at near $500.

THEFT: Joppa -- A multispeed bike and a bike rack, all valued at more than $1,000, were stolen from atop a car parked in the 1200 block of Mountain Road between Monday night and Tuesday morning.

THEFT: Havre de Grace -- Someone stole a multispeed bike and a mail box, all valued at more than $300, from a home in the 500 block of Craig's Corner Road over the weekend.
