Homeowner forces burglars from property
Two burglars met a resolute homeowner Thursday morning while attempting to break into a Pasadena home and ran away empty-handed.
Dion Bonucci, 28, of the 8100 block of Whites Cove Road, told police he heard a loud truck drive down the road and pull into his driveway about 12:30 a.m.
He said two men got out, walked to his door and pried it open. Mr. Bonucci was waiting for them on the other side and shoved the first burglar back onto the sidewalk.
The startled burglars took off with Mr. Bonucci in pursuit. They got away when Mr. Bonucci slipped and fell.
The empty-handed thieves drove off in a small blue pickup truck.
Woman is robbed at toy store
A woman sitting in her car in front of a Pasadena toy store Friday night was robbed by a man armed with a gun.
Melissa Lynn Freeman, 26, of Brooklyn, was parked in front of Lionel Kiddie City, in the 1800 block of Jumpers Hole Road, about 7:40 p.m. when a man threatened her with a handgun and demanded money, police said.
Woman is struck, her purse stolen
A Pasadena woman was robbed of her purse Friday evening in Rock Creek Park after she was slapped and pushed to the ground.
Police said Sharon Kay Grim, 30, was in the park about 5:50 p.m. when a man came up to her and demanded her purse.
When she refused, he slapped her, shoved her to the ground and wrestled the purse away from her, police said.
