Late FG stops Bowie, 17-15

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. — SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Bowie State's dramatic second-half comeback ended in frustration when Adam Hallet's 27-yard field goal with 17 seconds left gave American International a 17-15 victory yesterday.

It was the sixth straight setback for Bowie State, which will be taking a 1-9 record into its finale Saturday at Wofford College.

AIC's winning field goal capped an 84-yard drive in 19 plays and enabled the Yellow Jackets (3-6) to end a five-game losing streak.

AIC led 14-2 at halftime.

Bowie quarterback Martin Littles threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to Thomas Destry in the third quarter, and, with 10:32 to play, Littles passed 30 yards to Mike Scott for a score that put the Bulldogs ahead 15-14.
